8 April 2011
Large quantities of unlicensed medicines have been seized by Department of Health authorities during a search of a home in Glengormley.
A man was spoken with by department officers about illegally importing and subsequently supplying unlicensed impotence via the web.
The 47-year-old was likewise questioned about other medication offences.
He will now be the subject of a report to the general public Prosecution Service.
The search was carried out by the department's Medicines Regulatory Group.
Its senior enforcement workplace, Peter Moore, stated: "It is important that we get the message across that unlicensed medications can be harmful.
"These types of products being offered, normally online, have gone through no quality assurance and there can be no assurance about their security.
"You just do not understand what you are taking or the conditions these items were made in. More notably, you do not understand the result drugs like this might have on your health."
